These are perfect targets for use with pellets or 22LR. The paper stock is light cardboard and makes clear and clean holes with wad cutter pellets. They are cheap as an add-on from Amazon. I bought one pack of 100 and as soon as I tried them I knew I would be wanting more. The next order I had which was over $25 and qualified for free shipping I ordered another 100 pack. The bulls eye may be somewhat small for more than 50 feet with a 22LR pistol and open sights, but is great for 25 to 50 feet with my Crosman 1377 pellet pistol and my 22LR pistols. The 22LR does not give the clean hole that a wad cutter pellet gives but I am not using the for some competition and they are perfect for cheap practice targets. I can't even print them this cheap on my printer! Get some. You won't regret it.

I do wish the target was bigger myself, but it serves its purpose. I bought this target for my husband and he loved it and when I expressed how I thought it should be bigger, he stated that if you did make it bigger it wouldn't really be as much fun shooting at. I'd say that the product sits about a foot and half high and it's probably around 9 inches wide. My husband like it but then again he has grown up around guns all his life so targets like this are really not that big of a challenge. He did say it was meant for pellet guns though, but BB guns can use it just fine.

To quallify for Appleseed you need to be able to shoot 4 moa consistantly free hand, that is keeping within 1" ctc at 25 yards.
They recommend a minimum distance of 15 feet (not 150 feet). 15 feet is about right for me with a pistol.
I like to shoot at these free hand standing at 10 yards and from prone or kneeling at 25 yards. At these distances I can hit them with good consistancy and it is very satisfying watching them spin. This is all metal constrution. So far the most powerful rifle I have used with it delivers over 14 ft lbs energy this target shows no damage.

Air gun rifles usually have a maximum accurate range of about 50 yards, some will do a little better. At 50 yards from a rest I can still hit these with good consistancy.
If they where any bigger they would be no challenge.

Overall excellent design, well made, fun to shoot and cheap, what more could you ask

I was firing from 8 yards. 8 shots later I noticed that the impact sounded different so I went and checked the trap and the back of it was bulged out from the pellet strikes and the deflector ramp in the back was all mangled up. 8 shots and this thing is ready for the scrap heap. My suggestion would be to buy a .22LR bullet trap for $40 and don't give it a second thought. This thing is not suitable for any high velocity pellet rifle. My guess would be anything over 500 fps is probably going to damage it. There was nothing in the description, instructions or on the box that listed a pellet velocity limit (just that only lead pellets should be...

The 100 targets it comes with are a plus.

But the backstop that directs the bb's into the holding area bends with repeated shots and ends up blocking the bb's from entering the holding area and then they all come flying out the front.

I have re-bent the backstop flap several times and it seems as though every time i fix it, it just bends back easier and with less shots.
I would suggest buying a .22 rim fire bullet stop, which is bigger, stronger, and has a better system of stopping and holding the projectile. (but is also much heavier)

I have been using this squirrel target for several weeks and must have fired over a hundred pellets at it. It works exactly as it should. It goes down when you hit the yellow target and it resets easily with a tug on the line. The line is much longer than I will ever use. Its a very durable line, probably nylon. I put this target about 60' out and don't come close to the max length of the line. At 60' the target is challenging enough without using the reducers. If you are an expert shot or if you want to put the target close you can use the reducers. The smallest reducer is about a 1/4" hole. The squirrel and reducers are made of a nice thick steel. Pellets do not dent the steel but they will take the paint off. The squirrel can be removed and flipped over. I repainted mine once after 100 shots. It takes 10 minutes to disassemble and paint. It is very satisfying seeing the squirrel go down. Way more fun then hitting soda cans.

Poorly constructed
This is a well-designed little trap, and would be great fun if it was well-built. But it's not. The target plate mechanism is held in place by metal rods that extend across the trap through holes in the side. These rods should be threaded on both ends and held in place by nuts. Instead, they are "secured" by cheap little plastic washers. These washers come off easily and cannot be re-used. And when one comes off, that end of the rod falls down into the trap rendering it useless. I have had two of these traps - the first arrived with three washers off the rod ends, and the rods and target plates lying in a pile in the bottom of the trap. The replacement trap arrived oksy, but after a few shots from a low-powered airgun two of the washers came off, causing those rods to fall down inside the trap. Very frustrating. Simply threading both ends of those metal rods and securing them with nuts would make this a really great and durable target trap. As it is, the thing is a piece of junk.

The trap is mounted to your solid backstop by hanging it on a single, sheet metal screw.
