Not for high velocity pellet guns
Bought this thinking it would be great for some target practice. I have a Crosman Nitro venom dusk air rifle that shoots up to 1000 fps with lead pellets. I used the Crosman premier hollow point lead pellets and went to sight in my scope. When I assembled the trap I noticed that the sheet metal looked a bit thin and I was concerned. I was firing from 8 yards. 8 shots later I noticed that the impact sounded different so I went and checked the trap and the back of it was bulged out from the pellet strikes and the deflector ramp in the back was all mangled up. 8 shots and this thing is ready for the scrap heap. My suggestion would be to buy a .22LR bullet trap for $40 and don't give it a second thought. This thing is not suitable for any high velocity pellet rifle. My guess would be anything over 500 fps is probably going to damage it. Most Underlined Buyer Review : Works ok, but not great.
The 100 targets it comes with are a plus.
But the backstop that directs the bb's into the holding area bends with repeated shots and ends up blocking the bb's from entering the holding area and then they all come flying out the front.
I have re-bent the backstop flap several times and it seems as though every time i fix it, it just bends back easier and with less shots.
I would suggest buying a .22 rim fire bullet stop, which is bigger, stronger, and has a better system of stopping and holding the projectile. (but is also much heavier)
